Sports Digression

It was a tragedy that St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Josh Hancock died in a drunk driving accident, for his family. But for Major League Baseball it should be a wake up call. Despite the irony that the Cardinals play in Busch Stadium, and were headed to Milwaukee to play the Brewers, MLB needs to look into more than steroid use by its players.
If the incredible waste of Mickey Mantles career and life were not a warning sign to players, let's hope that Mr. Hancocks untimely demise will be. If they can only look beyond the fact that Budweiser and Miller Light are major sponsors of the league.
